Are women under-represented in current scientific programs and projects?
Current data indicates that there were 4,052 women and 6,892 men participating in scientific programs and projects in Slovenia in the last ten years. Women were 37% of all scientific programs’ participants and men 63%, a proportion roughly 1:2 female to male.
However, the current level of participation by gender shows that women scientists in Slovenia are slightly more involved in scientific projects than their male counterparts. Existing data shows that of all women scientists in Slovenia, 58% are currently involved in scientific program or projects, while male scientists involvement is slightly lower (56%).
